In his memory, the Ulys Knight Spirit Award was established in 1975 and presented "to any individual or group that has made noteworthy efforts to sustain spirit among the UNT family." In memory of Mr. Knight and his wife, the Ulys & Vera Knight Faculty Mentor Award was established in 2013, which "recognizes a faculty member who demonstrates sustained excellence in mentoring undergraduate students, graduate students, and/or other faculty."
