Interview with Mitchell Jackson, a former student at the Frederick Douglass Colored School in Denton, Texas. In the interview, Jackson recollects memories of what his life was like in a segregated school and community. He comments specifically on his family background, teachers, athletics, school curriculum, and the influence of Coach Tennyson Miller.

Interview with Inga Pennock, a Holocaust survivor from Berlin. Pennock discusses her family background, experiencing antisemitism and the start of Nazi rule, trying to leave Germany and hiding, increasing violence, Kristallnacht, losing family, fleeing to Shanghai, Japanese occupation and the ghetto, working as a nurse for the Japanese, living conditions, liberation, and life afterwards.

Interview with Sheila Allen, an attorney and longtime resident of Hamilton Park from Dallas, Texas. Allen discusses attending school in Hamilton Park, integration in Richardson ISD and relations between white and black students, discrimination, attending East Texas State and Sam Houston University, struggles finding work afterwards, law school, church life, reflections on the Hamilton Park community, resisting "Buy Out," the Civic League, and thoughts on the future.

Interview with college professor William F. Belcher from Abilene, Texas. In the interview, Belcher discusses his experiences during the desegregation of the North Texas State College.

Interview with Sadye Gee, a teacher from Dallas, Texas. Gee discusses her family background, working a laundry service during the Great Depression, education, teaching at B. F. Darrell School, marriage, her husband's career, the Black Chamber of Commerce in Dallas, black Dallas communities, buying a home in Hamilton Park and life in the area as an African-American, raising her daughter, discrimination, schools, the growth of the area, and "buy outs" and relocation. In appendix is a sheet of Gee's biographical information.

Interview with Margaret Gillooly, a civilian internee of the Japanese in WWII from San Francisco, California. Gillooly discusses her family's move to the Philippines in 1938, schooling, the start of war and the Japanese invasion, staying in Cebu City, her parents' escape from Manila and surviving a sinking in Manila Bay, Japanese occupation of Cebu, being moved to Manila, various experiences surviving internment at Santo Tomas Prison Camp, bombings, the American invasion and liberation, a Japanese counterattack and siege, emotional and mental impacts, and evacuation.

Interview with James N. Hall, a Army Air Force WWII veteran from Burkburnett, Texas. Hall discusses joining the Air Force from college, basic training, classification, flight training, the P-47, fighter tactics, deplyoment to Le Culot Airfield in Belgium, his first mission, briefings and intelligence, Air Support Parties, close air support, flak, bomber escort, air-to-air encounters, casualties, logistics, German civilians, crash landings, V-E Day, and return to civilian life.

Interview with Lloyd Shipman, a member of the Civilian Conservation Corps from Dallas, Texas. Shipman discusses his family and education, the impact of the Great Depression, joining the CCC and assignment to Bartlett, Texas, work as a typist, discipline and regimentation in the camp, daily routine, education services, recreation, and his thoughts on the impact of the CCC. In appendix are a chapter from an autobiography by Shipman, and two poems that he wrote.

Interview with Harold L. Trammell, a member of the Civilian Conservation Corps from Mason, Oklahoma. Trammell discusses his early life, train hopping to Utah and back, enrollment in the CCC at Fort Sill, his assignment to Cache, Oklahoma, building trails in the Wichita Mountains Wildlife Refuge, work at Arapaho National Forest in Colorado, pranks in camp, daily routine, entertainment and recreation, drinking, discipline, and life after the CCC. In appendix is a copy of Trammell's account of his time in the CCC, and the May 30th, 1935 edition of the CCC magazine "Panther Tracks."

Interview with Mrs. Willie B. Johnson, a nurse from Kaufman, Texas. Johnson discusses growing up in a sharecropping family, racism in the community, work on the farm, her education, becoming a nurse and working at Parkland Hospital in Dallas, moving to Hamilton Park, unfair access to utilities, her children's education and difficulties with the school system, the Civic League, her husband, her children, other places she's lived, police harassment, the NAACP, and life in Hamilton Park. An addendum includes additional biographical information about Mrs. Johnson.

Interview with Jacob Bekker, a Holocaust survivor from Warsaw, Poland. Bekker discusses his upbringing, life for Jews in Warsaw before the war, antisemitism in Warsaw and discrimination, the invasion of Poland, Germans and Poles identifying Jews and singling them out for labor, fleeing to Russia and working there, returning to Poland after the war, and leaving for Israel.

Interview with James Blocklinger, a Navy veteran, concerning his experiences aboard the heavy minelayer USS Oglala during the Japanese attack at Pearl Harbor on December 7, 1941.

Transcript of an interview with Rosa Lee Daniels concerning her experiences as a student at Frederick Douglass Colored School until it burned down in 1913, and was rebuilt and renamed the Frederick Moore School in Denton, Texas (1910-1921). Daniels discusses the school facilities, her teachers, discipline, school equipment and facilities, segregation, and Klan activities in Denton.

Interview with schoolteacher A. Tennyson Miller from Denton, Texas. In the interview, Miller reflects on his experiences as a teacher and coach at the Fredrick Douglass School during the late 1930's and early 1940's, which was before the school was integrated. He comments on Principal Fred Moore and segregated education in Denton. Tennyson also discusses his admission to the doctoral program at North Texas State College, which broke racial barriers in 1954.
