This issue contains academic articles, film reviews, and book reviews by Burress Distinguished and Genealogical Workshop lecturers and undergraduate history students.

The Catalyst literary journal of Howard Payne University includes original student work such as poetry, prose, essays, photography, and artwork. The first page of this issue contains a list of the errata, including missing photographer credits and a subtitle correction. According to the editor's note on page 3, this is the first issue of "The Catalyst" that has been entirely produced by a students staff.
