Underneath, the text contains "Lesson XLVII...State of Texas." with information about the Characteristics, Mountains, Valleys, Rivers, Sea-Coast, Islands, and Vegetable Products of the state. The second page is a continuation of the text, including further information on Animals, Minerals, Climate, Soil, Face of the Country, Divisions, Agriculture, Chief Towns, Inhabitants, and History--Early Annals of the state. The portion about the divisions of Texas includes a table that breaks down the population of each county.
