This composition was influenced by an earlier work TaBAr for double bass and tape and juxtaposes two forms of musical expression: the dynamic performance of classical music and the playback of a closed tape recording. The composer wrote the instrumental part for Tadeusz Wielecki, a Polish double bass player and composer.

Signor Marconi, His Ayre

Recording of David Keane's Signor Marconi, His Ayre. For radios, 2 signal processors, and digitally controlled mixer. This work was designed to be performed live, with the only sound sources being 4 radio channels live broadcasting. The result of the mixing (under MIDI) control by the program that serves as the score for the piece is broadcast live on yet a fifth radio channel. The object of the piece is the creation of a structure that promises a successful piece, regardless of the program content of the source radio channels.

African Procession

The composer separates the track into two parts: the first represents the nighttime and the second represents the day. Paganini au Caire

Recording of Dieter Kaufmann's Paganini au Caire. This recording consists of sounds from the composer's trip to Cairo in 1997 as well as segments from the 1st violin concerto by Niccol Paganini. The Paganini recordings are performed by Elena Denisova and 512 virtual violinists. This piece was produced at the ELAK Institute of the University of Vienna Music on 8 tracks, stereo version. The composer attributes this recording to his fascination with the dialogue between nature and culture.

Evocations I

Recording of José R. Sosaya Wekselman's Evocations I. This work is made up of various acoustical sounds all attributed to the environment of the composer when creating this piece. This includes family voices, airports, domestic sounds, etc. The composer has meant for these sounds to create their own evolutionary musical structure rather than be heavily manipulated. He thanks the Spanish Ministry of Culture for their grant which helped this piece come to fruition.
