From abstract: As part of the Department of Energy (DOE) National Uranium Resource Evaluation Program, a rotary-wing high sensitivity radiometric and magnetic survey was flown covering portions of the State of New Mexico, Arizona and Texas. The survey encompassed six 1:250,000 scale quadrangles, Holbrook, El Paso, Las Cruces, Carlsbad, Fort Sumner and Roswell.

Appendices containing an uranium occurrence table of the Gallup Quadrangle, in addition to uranium occurrence reports, a table of chemical analysis, and lists of test wells and stratigraphic sections to accompany a report on U.S. uranium resources in Arizona and New Mexico.

Appendices containing data on uranium availability in the Shiprock Quadrangle to accompany a report on U.S. uranium resources in New Mexico, Arizona, Colorado, and Utah.

From Introduction: "The purpose of the National Uranium Resource Evaluation (NURE) program is to identify and delineate areas and environments within the Gallup 1º x 2º Quadrangle, Ariz. and New Mex., that exhibit characteristics favorable for the occurrence of uranium deposits that have the potential to contain at least 100 metric tons U3O8 total endowment with an average minimum grade of 100 ppm (0.01 percent)."
