Letter from Isaac H. Kempner to Harris L. Kempner offering an invitation to the New York Cotton Exchange's diamond jubilee dinner and discussing a meeting at the Exchange that reduced debt, storm predictions for Galveston and stock market conditions in regards to war with Japan.

Letter from I. H. Kempner to W. E. Stone discussing concerns regarding a proposal to establish another medical college in San Antonio without protective restrictions for the existing school in Galveston. He argues that supporting this measure might alienate friends and supporters from various Texan cities who favor Galveston's current medical establishment.

Letter from Rabbi Newton J. Friedman to I. H. Kempner explaining that he will make the increased offer to the land owner of the potential lot for the Hillel building in Austin, rejoicing over the pledges for $1,000.00 and discussing the responses from B'nai B'rith Lodges. He also mentions Mr. Scheppps decision to donate the Liquor Dealers Fund to local hospitals in the area. He agrees to make personal donations to the fund instead.

Gilbert to Isaac H. Kempner suggesting Galveston dig a canal from the Brazos river to grow the city industrially and serve as a drainage canal.
