Ensemble of silver thread silk brocade in a pattern of vertical wavy lines. A) Jacket is full-length with stand-up collar that is open with elongated V at front. Center front opening to waist with 6 crystal buttons with loops of self-fabric; open to hemline. Long set-in sleeves with 4-3/4" bell cuffs. Shoulder pads; lined in grey silk crepe. Designer's label inside: "Michael Faircloth" B) Straight skirt is full-length with 18" slit at center back. 1-1/4" waistband with center-back zip and hook & eye closure. Lined in grey silk crepe.

Oral History Interview with Arthur and Louise Caillet Dieterich, August 11, 1985

Interview with Arthur and Louise Caillet Dieterich, owners and operators of Hermosa Farms, Dallas, Texas. The interview includes the Dieterich's personal experiences about farming in Dallas, education, and establishing Hermosa Farms. The Dieterich's talk about their family backgrounds, Arthur's employment as operator of dairy cooperative with his brother in El Paso, Texas, the effect of the Great Depression on Dallas dairy businesses, milk processing and delivery operations, a typical day on a dairy farm, their change from retail to wholesale business, developing dairy herd, their cooperation with agricultural experiment stations, personnel practices, and civic and trade association activities. The interview includes an appendix with a family history written by Louise Caillet Dieterich.

Drop-waist dress

Dress of bubblegum pink silk. Long sleeves, wide round neckline finished with self bias, loose fitting princess line. Dropped waist falls at mid-thigh where there is a band of 1/2 inch bias. Skirt of three wide flounces falling to different lengths; top two flounces are asymmetrical being shorter on left, bottom flounce straight. Center back invisible zipper with hook and eye at top.

Evening dress of white acetate taffeta with multicolored hand-painted splatter and brush stroke design. Sleeveless with bateau neckline. Full length with gathered 7-1/2" cotton flounce at hemline. Evening dress of chocolate brown acetate/rayon velvet and brown nylon/polyester taffeta. Strapless bodice of brown velvet with swirled designs of metallic sequins and beads, front and back. Off-the-shoulder attached shirred sleeves in brown taffeta. Skirt has 1870's draped front. Back is semicircular with large bow-shaped bustle of brown taffeta attached at waistline.
