Marvin Staton, park manager, said the concrete and steel building was supposedly "fireproof." The building was partially covered by insurance. The structure was erected in 1946 after a 1945 blaze destroyed the original building. The fire touched off several thousands of rounds of ammunition in the shooting gallery, but no one was injured."
