He lists the names of pastors and their congregations that have signed up and suggests that Davis send to them copies of the Crusader with a preparatory message. Denominations represented include Baptist, First Christian, Methodist, and Presbyterian.

A letter written to Mr. T. N. Carswell from W. A. Bynum, Owner-Manager, The Bynum Teachers Agency, Abilene, Texas, dated December 25, 1945. Bynum offers his congratulations on Carswell's appointment with United [Texas] Drys.

A form letter addressed to Mr. Chas. A. Guy, Editor, Avalanche, Lubbock, Texas, from T. N. Carswell, American Legion Committee on Americanism, dated November 25, 1941. The letter contains the promotion of a "What is Americanism?" campaign. The campaign is defined as "seeking more light in the form of a contribution", the contribution being the answer to the question, "What is Americanism?". The answer will then be used "to help stimulate an Americanism Revival comparable in results to the periods of the Revolution, the Making of the Constitution, and the Civil War" stressing that the country's destiny depends on these answers. Postscript: "We suggest: A Patrick Henry Day observance in every community and school in the U.S.A."

A letter written to Mr. T. N. Carswell, Commander, American Legion Parramore Post No. 57, Abilene, Texas, from Sam Russell, 17th Dist. Texas, House of Representatives, Washington, D. C., dated March 25, 1941. Russell acknowledges his receipt of the letter with the check from Carswell to cover the cost of the manuals. Russell confirms that he has secured the fifty volumes of the Infantry Drill Regulations FM - 22 - 5 and is mailing them to Carswell., He advises of the enclosed bills as requested by Carswell. Typewritten on U.S. House letterhead bearing U S Eagle watermark.

A letter written to Mr. T. N. Carswell, Abilene, Texas, from Andrew Dilworth, Law Offices, San Antonio 5, Texas, dated November 25, 1944. Dilworth discusses the question of whether the appropriation for Danforth's campaign is a legitimate expense such as may be authorized by action of the Department Executive Committee. He advises that Carswell is rendering the Legionnaires a real service by bringing the matter to their attention. Dilworth confirms that this issue is turning out as both he and Carswell prophesied. Dilworth compares this appropriation of funds stating, "Any one who would introduce a measure in the legislature of Texas to appropriate a sum of money for the purpose of electing Coke Stevenson President of the United States would so shock the public conscience that he would be adjudged a lunatic. Yet that is exactly what the Department Executive Committee of the Texas Department is doing."

A Western Union telegram sent to T. N. Carswell, Abilene, Texas, from Tom Connally by his secretary, dated 2April 25, 1946. Connally acknowledges the receipt of Carswell's views in favor of OPA.

A letter written to Mr. T. N. Carswell, Abilene, Texas, from W. R. White, President, Hardin-Simmons University dated November 25, 1941. White expresses his appreciation for the selection and direction of ushers by Carswell during the Convention.

A letter written to Mr. T. N. Carswell, Abilene, Texas from Jeff Davis, Pastor, First Baptist Church, Hallsville, Texas dated April 25, 1945. Davis advises Carswell of his wish to return to West Texas and requests help from Carswell and Dr. Moore to get him in touch with a new church to pastor. Davis expresses his appreciation for the "good word" by Carswell about the Crusader and for their friendship. In a handwritten postscript Davis advises of Dr. Richardson having agreed to cooperate. Carswell handwrites a notation dated May 16, 1945 confirming having told Davis of Knox City and Eastland.

Knickerbocker acknowledges the receipt of the letter of June 24, 1943 from Carswell and expresses his appreciation regarding Carswell's conclusion of the effective manner in which the State Guard handled the disturbances in Beaumont. Knickerbocker advises of their pride in the expedition and efficiency with which the State Guard took over both before and after Martial Law was declared.
