Patent for a new and improved design of elevators "for the purpose of preventing accidents" (lines 26-27) by locking the entrance doors while the elevator is moving, including illustrations. It is designed to be used by passengers but can also be adapted to be used as a freight elevator.

Patent for gas burners that are made for water heaters to prevent "back firing" by building them so that they can be placed on the side of the heater rather than underneath it, so that liquid does not fall on the burner.
