Carswell advises of the approximate bond valuations, the option of a utilities rate increase and his assurance that if Johnson decides not to try for the refunding proposition that he will be glad to pay for his counsel and advice.

A letter written to Mayor W. W. Hair, Abilene, Texas, from T. N. Carswell, dated February 22, 1946. Carswell requests that his name be placed on the ballot to be used in the special city election called for March 19, 1946, for the purpose of electing a Commissioner to fill the existing vacancy.

A letter written to Tommy Carswell from Dorothy Clarkson Lloyd, dated February 22, 1968. Lloyd expresses her appreciation to Carswell for his kind and thoughtful letter noting that Claude would have liked it. She advises that Carswell was one of Claude's dearest friends, that his illness was brief and that she was proud and happy to have been part of "this wonderful person's life" and no one need be sorry for her.

Wagstaff acknowledges Carswell's 82nd birthday expressing his appreciation for the work he did in behalf of the community throughout the years. He briefly outlines Carswell's accomplishments as Secretary of The Abilene Chamber of Commerce from 1924-1939 focusing on his work regarding roads and highways and the water supply for Abilene, Texas.

A letter written to Mr. Forister from T. N. Carswell, dated October 22, 1957. Carswell requests a favor of Forister to deliver candy to the Czichos family and advises of a check which he has attached to the letter.

Carswell advises of an attached check, an attached list of recipients to receive subscriptions to IDEALS and a copy of the sentiment to be sent with each subscription gift.

A letter written to T. N. Carswell from Raymond W. Foy dated November 22, 1948. Foy advises Carswell that the organization of the Hardin-Simmons University Ex-Students Association looks like a step in the right direction. This correspondence is typewritten at the top left of the page of the letter sent to The Executive Committee, Ex-Students Association and HSU regarding the proposal to establish the HSU Ex-Students Association as a permanent unit and to create a Planning Commission.

A letter written to Mrs. Hanks from T. N. Carswell dated June 22, 1963. Carswell comments on having seen the Memorial given for her Dad and Mother while touring the Minnie L. Anderson addition and of how his vivid recollections of her father, persist, "Hence this note of genuine appreciation to you - and Bernard." Carswell also reminicses of his aquaintance with Dr. Hollis [L. W. Hollis] and her mother and of the hospital built by Dr. Hollis. He compliments her decision in selecting Hendrick Memorial Hospital in which to place a marker dedicating the service of Dr. Hollis as a physician to the community in the early years of Abilene.

A letter written to Mr. T. N. Carswell, Abilene, Texas, from Elwin L. Skiles, Pastor, First Baptist Church, Abilene, Texas dated July 22, 1958. Skiles expresses his appreciation for Carswell and salutes his service as a deacon for more than a quarter of a century.

A letter addressed to the Abilene (Texas) City Police Department, from Clyde Suddath, County Attorney of Clay County, Henrietta, Texas, dated July 22, 1955. Copy to the Sheriff of Taylor County and to T. N. Carswell. Reminder by Suddath of a warrant he forwarded on July 16, 1955 for the arrest of Subject FBI No. 865810A. He advises of information received regarding the subject being paroled under the supervision of T. N. Carswell.

A letter addressed to the Texas Board of Pardons and Paroles, from T. N. Carswell, Chairman, Taylor County Parole Board, dated August 22, 1955. Carswell advises the Board regarding Subject 40-7940 which includes a confession to burglaries in Texas and the failure to comply with certain conditions of his Parole while in California.

A Texas Parole Arrival Notice (Prison Number 138,390), dated March 22, 1957. Arrival notices were sent to a probation/parole officer, notifying them of an new parolee for them to supervise.

A letter addressed to the Hon. Walter A. Gordon, Administrator, Interstate Parole Compact, Sacramento 14, California, from T. N. Carswell, Chairman, Taylor County (Texas), Parole Board, dated September 22, 1952. Carswell advises Gordon that a review of monthly reports shows an excellent record for Subject A-9803.

A letter written to Mrs. Breeding from T. N. Carswell, Chairman dated September 22, 1953. Carswell advises Mrs. Breeding as to the reason the checks forged by Subject 108,345 requires immediate attention.

A letter addressed to Mr. T. N. Carswell, Abilene, Texas, from the wife of a parolee in Coleman, Texas, dated March 22, 1954. The wife of the subject advises Carswell that this letter is in regards to the clemency case for her husband to be brought before the Board in June. She advises of her husband's plans to accept a job with Larghterdale and Strawn in Taylor County and requests that Carswell accept him as a parolee. She advises that her husband was interviewed by Rev. George Beto who made a recommendation to the Board for clemency and requests that Carswell write to the Board and send to her a copy of his letter.

A letter written to Mr. T. N. Carswell, Abilene, Texas, from Milt Phillips, Department Adjutant, The American Legion, Department of Oklahoma, Oklahoma City, dated May 22, 1942. Phillips advises that he was given an assurance from Fred Young that Carswell would provide information on the standing of J. W. Reid as a lawyer, that he accepted a fee to secure a divorce for a soldier, the son of a splendid legionnaire, but an allottment made to the girl and was later cancelled has not yet been stopped.

Rather expresses his appreciation for the letter from Carswell in which he wished him success in his new responsibility and assures Carswell of his comprehension of the big job ahead. He confirms the supplies requested by Carswell are being sent under separate cover.

A letter written to Mr. T. N. Carswell, Abilene, Texas, from Wyatt W. Lipscomb, Albany, Texas, dated November 22, 1942. Lipscomb advises of the enclosed clipping from one of their two local newspapers of an article written by himself relative to the proper consideration of Armistice. He complains that the other newspaper destroyed the intent of the article by leaving out the last paragraph. Lipscomb extends an invitation to Carswell and to his wife to attend an event to be held at their Legion Hall adding that he hopes his gasoline will not be too limited for the trip.
