This design "consists in a receptacle or multiple bin the several compartments of which are provided with valves controlling exit-openings, whereby any desired quantity of shot, descending by gravity from the appropriate compartment, may be directed into the scale-pan of a scale without the necessity of lifting the receptacle or bin or any part of its contents" (lines 35-43).

Patent for a new and improved landside cutter for plows. This design consists in "[t]he combination of a colter . . . and the landside attachment secured to the landside of the plow, the said landside attachment having the laterally-extending cutting-wing . . . the plate in front of the landside attachment, and the colter on the front edge of the said plate" (lines 66-75).

Patent for a new and improved windmill. This design "consists in a novel arrangement and combination of wings or gates in a casing outside and independent of the wheel, whereby provision is made for adjusting the position of said wings, and consequently regulating the speed of the wheel, according to the force of the wind" (lines 7-13).

Patent for a new and improved wrench. This design is "especially adapted for manipulating pipe-joints, though applicable, also, for use in manipulating nuts, &c.; and it consists in the [novel] detailed construction and combination of operating parts" (lines 24-28).

Patent for a new and improved ventilator. This design consists in "a fan casing, constructed and arranged . . . of the fan arranged therein, the gearing placed above the fan, the air-ducts leading to the fan-chamber, the endless weighted chain or cord, and drums and pulleys . . . [and] an open bottom secured to a ceiling and communicating with air-ducts passing between the floor and ceiling of a building" (lines 80-90).

Patent for a new and improved well-bucket fixture. This design "is to provide for the ready opening of the valve for entrance into the bucket of water or other fluid, and the closing of the same when the same bucket has been sufficiently supplied; also securely to hold the parts together as against loosening in consequence of frequent usage; and it consists in the detailed construction, combination, and arrangement of the parts" (lines 11-19).

Patent for a new method of embossing woven materials (such as lace) onto paper using electrotyping.

Patent for harvesting machine that simply and efficiently cuts heads off stalks to save seeds and also cuts stalks close to ground for for use for ensilage or to be left as fertilizer. Includes instructions and illustrations.

Patent for a Standing Valve. This standing valve is designed to improve the way the fluids pump through oil and water wells. it also includes an improvement in the way the standing valve is secured to the wells. The new valve can also be easily replaced because of the materials it is composed of.

Patent for a pneumatic jet that uses steam jets to provide power for various tasks such as distributing seed cotton or elevating coal. Illustrations included.

Patent for switch stands. The improvement is to provide a mechanism in connection with stands of the character specified for moving the points of a switch to deflect trains from the main track on to the switch, wherein locking mechanism is provided for locking the switch points in safety or main line position and connected to the operating mechanism for moving the points in such manner that when operating arm for the switch is moved into the inoperative position after returning the points to the normal position, the locking mechanism will be operated to lock the points against movement.

Patent for "underreaming tools or bits which can be adjusted from the top of the well and which can be set at the required angle..."

Patent for "weaning and grazing muzzles for stock, the object in view being to provide a muzzle adapted when the head of the animal is elevated to remain closed and when the head of the animal is lowered to open, and thereby permit grazing." (Lines 9-14) Includes instructions and illustrations.

Patent for a new and improved grave covering. This design calls for a concrete slab, slightly larger than its lidless wooden box, to rest on the upper edges of the latter. A slat in the slab will receive a headstone, which will rest on the slab via flanges.

Patent for a device which protects the wearer's sleeve from becoming wet while washing his hands, brushing his teeth, etc.

Patent for a new and improved rotary churn. This design consists in "[t]he combination of the supporting frame, the walking-beam, two crank-shafts journaled in the rear part of said frame, means for connecting the walking-beam with said shafts, a balance-wheel and dasher carried by one of said shafts, a larger balance wheel connected to the other shaft, and a churn-body secured to said balance-wheel" (lines 50-57).
