SCS Technician DeBoy Wheatley and a UNIDENTIFED Tractor Driver Performance Testing a SCS Developed Grass Planter
Photograph of SCS technician DeBoy Wheatley and a UNIDENTIFED tractor driver performance testing a SCS developed grass planter. People shown in photo go as followed from left to right: 1. UNIDENTIFIED, 2. DeBoy Wheatley. The back of the photograph proclaims, "Soil Conservation Service developed grass planter during performance test. Hood has been removed that covers feeding mechanisms at front end of hopper so that spindles on feeder shaft can be seen. Weed growth in background was like that on site the day before. Site was one-wayed under very dry conditions. The resulting cloddy, dry, trashy site preparation is unfavorable for planting. DeBoy Wheatley, SCS technician, observing operation."
