Letter to John J. Herrera from Jake Jacobsen, Administrative Assistant to Senator Price Daniel. Jacobsen advises Herrera about completing a new hardship discharge application for Private Abel Cisneros. Jacobsen also includes a handwritten note to Herrera at the bottom of the letter: "Glad to hear about John Michael doing so well. I think he made the right decision because law school is so much easier after army service."

Letter to Frank Pinedo from John J. Herrera, asking Pinedo to please help Herrera get his driver's license application processed. Herrera also writes with a sense of frustration in regards to the Hernandez case: "I do know that I have sunk at least $1000.00 of my own money in the Hernandez case, and frankly I am sick with the whole deal and I am ready to withdraw and let Gus [Garcia] go by himself." Herrera mentions that Abel Cisneros is starting a radio program in Wharton County.
