This letter is in answer to Perez's inquiry about topics to be discussed at the Texas Regional Convention to be held in Houston, Texas, on January 29 and 30, 1949. Topics are to include: the fifty-cent a month member assessment; and ways and means to advise the Legislature what action should be taken against illegal transportation and hiring of braceros in Texas. Also to be discussed was a proposed trip of LULACs to see President Truman about this matter and civil rights legislation.

This is request to use Judge McGee's court room in the Civil Courts Building for the Junior LULAC monthly meeting. Herrera indicates that previously they had met at Hennessey Park but membership was dwindling because it was not a safe location.

Letter from Matilda Gonzales to her brother, John J. Herrera, discussing her health after recent illness and a trip that she would like to take to visit Evelyn and Lupe as well as John's family in Houston. Matilda also asks her brother to lend her money for her trip and asks about his family. There is an accompanying envelope, postmarked June 12, 1967 from Del Rio, Texas.

Herrera does not claim any of these properties as his homestead. Instead he is leasing his business property at 124 Preston Avenue.
