Officials said that Watergate investigation is 85% complete. John Mitchell is the start witness before the senate Watergate committee. The committee members would prefer Martha Mitchell not to attend hence they offered her a private room with color television. But Mrs. Mitchell turned it down. Julie Nixon has told the associated press that her father asked family's advice about resigning because Watergate. The president's father said the family felt resigning would be an admission of wrong doing and that she is confident her father will be vindicated in the scandal.

As a result of this, dollar hit steep decline on European markets, Zurich and Frankfurt reported lows whereas Paris recorded a new low as bankers reported "No trading" also the pound in London was fractionally increased against the dollar. As a consequence explanations attributed to the dollar's weakness in Frankfurt. As per West Germany Economic Research Institute report's "The mark's five and a half per cent upward revaluation will not help dollar" and the exchange dealer said "it's almost impossible to sell any dollars." Consequently, Hurricane Alice swept into Bermuda, carrying heavy rain and winds reaching a sustained force …
