Photograph of an UNIDENTIFIED man kneeling in a field consisting of sideoats grama grass. The back of the photograph proclaims, “Side oats [sic] grama grass on the Sasseen Ranch. This grass was planted in cotton stalks with the Washita County Soil Conservation District grass drill. The planting is four years old. Sasseen has received good grazing the past 2 years."

Photograph of a stream bank cut on Highway 77, 3 to 1 slope. Bank cut with no attempt made to control erosion. Cut made in Jan. 1958. Erosion of bank has started with an estimated 6" of rainfall to date. With normal rainfall erosion will be much greater. Soil Unit 9.

NK-37 Bermuda grass was planted during the last week in May, 1959, using 1 ¾ pounds seed and 200 lbs. of 10-20-10 fertilizer per acre. Soil unit 25c-OH. This pasture was changed from non-production to a lush pasture within 120 days by proper land use. OK-928-9.

Photograph of wind erosion and revegetation range. Part of a 20 acre area of edward L. Brewer's ranch that was plowed and then blown out during the thirties, before Brewer owned the land. Cane will be planted left to grow until blowing area is stablized enough to plant grass. Will take from five to ten years. Photograph of basal-bark application using 2¾ gallon of a low-volatile 2-4-5T ester (4 pounds acid per gallon of material used) in 100 gallons of diesel oil. The spray is applied so as to completely encircle and wet the lower 12 inches of each plant even to the point of run-off onto the soil. The equipment used was a John Bean-powered sprayer. The brush and trees were blackjack, post and white oak, hickory, elm, persimmon and dogwood. OK-11-8.
