Photograph used for a story in the Daily Oklahoman newspaper. Caption: "Turn your arms back like a chicken wings…Pull in your head like a turtle." Ima Hofacket, first grade teacher, illustrates and the 6-year-old quickly cross amrs, hands tucked under, and cover their faces. This is no game. Teacher Hofacket at Srquoyah school - like dozens of other teachers thoughtout the city - is going about the grim tasks of preparing children to protect themselves in case an atomic bomb should explode over Oklahoma City. Another "A," for A=bomb drills, has been added to the ABC's of approximately half og the city schools. only they call them "security drills" because the latter term is less frightening. Other shools are whipping their civilian defense programs into shape says Lonnir Gilliland, safety director.......It takes Sequoyah's 700 children 1 1/2 minutes do this drill. And this is only their third drill. You wonder of adults could do it with less confusion."
