Patent for a cattle guard that prevents cattle from blocking railroad tracks. It consists of sharp edged cross ties that sit on the bottom of a shallow pit, guard rails that cover the cross ties, bolts that hold the rails together, and end planks forming v-shaped serrations.

Patent for animal-poke that prevents them from jumping or forcing their way through fences. It consists of a yoke with its ends pointing upward, a brow band, rods that connect the brow band and the ends of the yoke, and bulges at the ends of the rods.

Patent for an improved cotton elevator, separator, and distributor that is meant to move cotton from a wagon or storage, remove dirt, and deliver it to a gin. The "improved apparatus comprises a pneumatic cotton-conveying tube by which the cotton is lifted or carried to the distributor, a separator for removing the cotton from the air current, and a distributor comprising a trunk for receiving the cotton from the separator extending over the two gin feeders, having openings delivering into the feeders, and an endless chain conveyer moving in said trunk, causing the cotton to travel along therein and drop out therefrom through the delivery openings into the feeders" (lines 16-27).

Patent for an inexpensive, strong, and simple wire stretcher that can be used quickly to stretch and secure wires. It also connects wires of different heights, and stretches wires to different tensions.

Patent for a plow that improves on turning plows. The improvement turns soil completely during operation, through a newly designed moldboard.

Patent for a strong, durable, and adjustable plow that has an improved sweep stock. The plow has an "implement for holding sweeps, half shovels, bull tongues, &c., all of which are needed in the proper cultivation of corn, cotton and the like; and a further object of the invention is to do so construct a sweep stock as to prevent it from choking by weeds" (lines 10-16).

Patent for a simple and effective stump puller that pulls stumps entirely from the ground using a large amount of force. The machine uses a series of pulleys, hooks, levers, and cranks.

Patent for a simple and inexpensive hitching device that can be easily applied to the driver, can connect a weight to the draft animal's bit, and can be easily adjusted.

Patent for an adjustable rubber foot pad or expander for horses. It can fit on any sized foot, does not put metal into contact with any sensitive parts of the foot, and can be worn for any type of travel. The parts can be easily replaced when they ear out. The pad can expand a contracted hoof naturally and easily.

Patent for a simple and effective hay-press that consists of a plunger, a spring actuated toggle lever that is connected to the plunger, a toothed segment on the lever, a draft attachment with a toothed section that lines up with the toothed segment on the lever, a tongue, a disk connected to the tongue, a cross bar on the frame, plates attached to the cross bar, a pitman, a brake, and a mechanism that throws the brake into action.

Patent for "an end gate for scooping adapted to be readily applied to the ordinary construction of wagon bodies which have end gates sliding in vertical cleats and which re usually provided with a removable rod for securing the end gate in the cleats" (lines 11-16).

Patent for an improved, simple, and durable envelope that can hold many letters, documents, and similar materials. "The invention consists of two overlapping end flaps connected with each other by a band and forming, with the front, an expansible pocket for the accommodation of the documents, a top flap and a bottom flap adapted to be folded one above the other, and both over the end flaps, and a band for holding the top and bottom flaps closed" (lines 12-19).

Patent for a simple and inexpensive gate closer that can be used with any gate and is easy to use. It consists of an arm that is secured to the gate, an adjustable wedge that sits between the arm and the gate, a weight connected to the arm, fastening devices, a slot on the wedge, pulleys mounted in a casing, and chords.

Patent for an improvement in saddle trees that secures the saddle more firmly to the horse than other saddles.

Patent for a strong and durable wiffletree-hook that is spring-actuated and uses an eye-bolt to hold the trace securely. It consists of a socket with an eye-bolt, a seat with flanges on all four s ides, pivot-lugs extending from the seat, a hook pivoted between the lugs, and a bow spring on the flanged-seat.

Patent for a simple harness rack that can be attached to a wagon bed, and is meant to conveniently hold harnesses when the horses are not hitched. The device can be turned out of the way when not being used.

Patent for an apparatus that aids in changing and developing photographic plates. It is portable, convenient, easy to use, and safety.

Patent for an improved railroad rail that is "composed of track or running rails proper and supplementary rails bolted to the track rails and having a laterally-projecting top portion which serves as a wheel guard or lateral brace for the track rails" (lines 14-19).

Patent for an improved method of hanging and supporting window shades. It consists of a bracket with overlapping portions that form a sleeve, lugs that hold a roller, and end pieces to cover the end of the bar in the sleeve.

Patent for a cotton-distributor that moves cotton from a wagon or storage and evenly and quickly distributes it to multiple gin feeders in a line.

Patent for an improved safety valve for boilers that consists of a valve chamber with a socket at its bottom, a valve seat with a steam outlet, a valve in the socket, a steam inlet tube that passes through and below the valve, a piston mounted in a guide chamber, a spring that holds the piston, a guide chamber with a valve seat, and a steam cylinder.

Patent for a sewer trap that prevents "the grease and other extraneous matter from sinks, and other fixtures in the house to effect a logment in the sewer, to the consequent obstruction and clogging up of the same" (lines 16-20). This makes sewers healthier and require less maintenance.

Patent for a wrecking-frog that has "a minimum of weight and maximum of strength and durability, which will accurately guide a derailed wheel to replacement upon the track and which is also equally adapted to derailing a train, car or other vehicle when an occasion arises rendering derailment necessary or expedient" (lines 10-16).

Patent for a cotton cleaner that provides "certain improvements in machines for cleaning lint cotton, and especially to provide a machine of this character which is intended to be arranged in the common lint flue, so as to occupy a position between the ordinary condenser in the lint room, and the nearest gin thereto" (lines 9-16). The cotton is thoroughly cleaned after leaving the gin, so that motes, stems, sticks, dry leaves, sand, &c. will be separated from the cotton.
