This design consists in "a wrench-head having a handle and a longitudinal slot through the wrench-head, a slidable bar having a jaw moving in said slot, a rack upon said bar, a worm-wheel in the wrench-head, meshing with the rack, and a jaw upon the wrench-head, jointly with a screw-driver inserted in the end of the slidable bar, said wrench-head having a plane outer surrounding surface in proximity to the longitudinal slot" (lines 1-10).

Patent for a rotary paper folder meant to fold newspapers as they come from the press in a web. The invention is simple, and cuts the paper into sheets of the desired length. Its folding attachment folds the paper in parallel columns, and the knives do not move in relation to the cylinders.

Patent for a new and improved washing-machine. This design is "to provide a machine having an oscillating and revolving rubber, means for securing the rubber to the operating-shaft, and to provide bearings for said shaft which may be adjusted to compensate for any wear of parts. A further object is to provide adjustable legs, whereby one side of the machine may be raised or lowered, thus decreasing or increasing the pressure of the rubber upon the articles being washed" (lines 17-27).

Fence-Making Machine.

Patent for a simple, portable fence-making machine meant to separate crossed wires, re-utilizes old wires, and has "a wedge being employed in the twisting-head for the purpose of separating the old twists and causing them to pass through the twisting-eye" (lines 22-25). The machine allows the wires to be equally spaced apart, and the space is adjustable. A picket-gage is included in the invention, which regulates the space between pickets.
