Inviting him to be a advisory committee member of North Texas Institute for Educators on the Visual Arts. Davis and McCarter writes that being a member of the advisory committee they will periodically review the activities of the Institute and serve as liaison between the community and the Institute, which serves as stepping stone towards comprehensive visual arts program being integrated in school districts. Included in the letter are details about what to expect from being a committee member and the types of meetings they hope to have during the following year. Davis and McCarter write that they are excited about the opportunity to improve the quality of visual arts for students and develop a more informed audience. Davis and McCarter look forward to Smith's response and will call upon him in a few days to confirm Smith's decision.

The children will first view a video in the school taught by the classroom teacher and art specialist before the museum experience. The two video sessions will be part of a joint Texas/Nebraska teleworkshop that will be broadcast to 19 states on October 7 and 21.
