He tells of a friend who came back from the Rest Camp recently, with whom he compared the sights of Rome, and explains that someone broke into his footlocker and stole a fountain pen he'd gotten from Robert Evans, Jr., as well as a hunting knife. He wonders what kind of soldier would do something like that, and seems sure that the perpetrator will be caught.
