"The purpose of this study was to record a history of the Texas Industrial Arts Association from 1955 to 1971. Information was sought concerning the following problems: (1) What circumstances prompted the founding of the Texas Industrial Arts Association? (2) Who were those instrumental in founding the Texas Industrial Arts Association? (3) What were the purposes for which the Texas Industrial Arts Association was founded and (4) What have been the major contributions of the association?...the data used in this study were obtained from personal interviews, letters of correspondence, bulletins, brochures, minutes of the association meetings, unpublished manuscripts, theses, programs, and books." --p. 1

This investigation is concerned with determining the extent of involvement by fifteen Texas municipal parks and recreation departments in providing programs for senior citizens, the mentally retarded, the physically handicapped, and the emotionally disturbed.

It was the problem of this study to determine the status of recent experimental, empirical, and rhetorical studies in the teaching of persuasion. An instrument was devised which included studies related to ten major categories traditionally covered in the persuasion course.

The problem with which this study is concerned is that of critically analyzing and producing the musical comedy The Apple Tree. The study attempts to adapt some of the major unifying elements of this production and, in addition, unite the show through the use of color. The study also attempts to update the production through an extension of symbolism based on the style of Peter Max; to produce a major musical comedy in a stylized and symbolic style, and to show how a stylized and symbolic method of production can be used to achieve simplicity and unity within the confines of a limited budget.

The problem of this thesis in creative production is concerned with the use of multi-media in an oral interpretation program so as not to obscure the author's message. The production attempted to utilize literature chosen to represent a basic theme and present it with selected media so that a positive response is evoked from the audience. The study also attempts to show, through example, that a program of oral interpretation using multi-media can sustain audience interest for a full evening of entertainment. An attempt is also made to show that multi-media need not be in constant use, that some literature can best utilize the "subtractive theory" which intensifies the message by deleting a majority of media.

The problem with which this study is concerned is that of ascertaining the effects of intensive Remotivation Techniques on institutionalized geriatric mental patients in terms of their ward behavior, self-concept, and visual-motor perceptions and to compare these with the effects of a similar group experience that does not emphasize patient-staff or patient-patient interactions, and a third group which acts a a control. The investigation is designed to answer or obtain information concerning the following questions: (1) Do institutionalized geriatric mental patients in a state mental hospital manifest measurable changes in terms of their (A) ward behavior as defined as raw scores on the Hospital tment Scale (including interpersonal communication and interpersonal relations; self care and social responsibility; level of participation in ward activities, recreation and work therapy; total score), (B) self-concept as defined as Goodenough raw scores on the Draw-a-Person Test, and (C) awareness of environment as defined as Pascal and Suttell raw scores on the Bender Visual-Motor Gestalt Test, as a result of experiencing the social and verbal interactions of intensive Remotivation Techniques? (2) Is the Remotivation Technique more effective in producing these changes than a similar group experience that does not emphasize social and verbal interactions?

This study was designed to investigate the possibility of relationships among sociometric status, prognosis, and selected personality variables of state hospital patients.

The problem with which this investigation is concerned is whether or not dogmatism and neuroticism in supervisors of sheltered workshops is related to changes in the self-concept of handicapped employees. The measurements of dogmatism and neuroticism were accomplished through the use of Rokeach's Dogmatism Scale, (form E) and Winne's Neuroticism Scale. Pitt's Tennessee Self Concept Scale was used to measure the self-concept of the handicapped employees.

The problem of this study was to determine the purpose of ESEA Title II, 1965, and evaluate the impact of the operation of this legislation on selected public schools of Texas.
