The investigator had the following purposes in developing the study: 1. To determine the social and personal qualities that should be developed in women major students in the health, physical education, and recreation department of North Texas State College. 2. To organize topics centering around the selected social and personal qualities for presentation in the Teaching Guide of this study. 3. To set up for each topic a suggested teaching plan by outlining contents and suggested activities related to each topic to be used as a guide for physical education teachers in promoting the development of personal and social qualities in the women major students. 4. To construct the Teaching Guide.

A Study to Construct a Handbook on the Effective Use of the Bulletin Board in the Department of Health, Physical Education and Recreation in the Secondary Schools and Colleges

Although most schools have bulletin boards, in most cases its educational possibilities and potentialities have not been fully realized by teachers of the health, physical education, and recreation departments. The wealth of facts innate in this program make it a rich field for full realization of values to be derived from the effective use of the bulletin board. Therefore, the writer became interested in setting forth some definite, concise, and practical suggestions in the form of a manual that would serve as a guide in the effective use of the bulletin board.

An Analytical Study of Basketball Goal Shooting in Fifteen Girls' Commercial Basketball Games of the Major City and Industrial Leagues of Fort Worth, Texas, during the Season of 1951-1952

The investigator became interested in the status of basketball goal shooting in modern girls' basketball as compared to that of boys' goal shooting. Types of shots, their frequency and accuracy, and the zones on the court from which they were taken, were all considered as components of the status of basketball goal shooting. It was on the basis of this interest that the present study was undertaken.

The investigator had the following purposes in undertaking the present study: 1. To determine the accuracy of the Brace Basketball Achievement Test in measuring a girl's real playing ability. 2. To determine to what extent the Brace Basketball Achievement Test can be relied upon to rank the players of a girls Interscholastic League basketball squad. 3. To determine to what extent the Brace Basketball Achievement Test can be relied upon to rank girls basketball squads in an Interscholastic League district. 4. To determine the degree to which the Brace Basketball Test can be relied upon as an aid for the selection of players for a high school girls basketball squad.
