Denton County Courthouse, 1876 to 1894

The first Denton County Courthouse was believed to have been burned in an act of arson in 1875. The second County Courthouse was built in 1876 and lasted until 1894 when lightning struck it. A photograph of the second courthouse included.

One hundred and thirty homes are either fully built or being built in Hamilton Park, which was funded by the Dallas Citizens' Interracial Corporation. The efforts of the Dallas Citizens' Interracial Corporation solved the housing shortage in Hamilton Park, but they also seek to end housing shortages in other predominantly black areas.

The construction of the new homes was funded by the Dallas Citizens' Interracial Association. All of the houses have been sold, excluding the two model homes; this plan, found by Jerome Crossman, solved the housing shortage in Hamilton Park, and the Dallas Citizens' Interracial Association plans to make eighty more homes.
