A memorandum from L. M. Fellbaum, Major, Q. M. C., Policy Supervisor to Mr. T. N. Carswell dated June 9, 1943. Fellbaum instructs Carswell regarding itinerary additions for Tom Green County Local Board No. 2 instructing Carswell to visit that board between his work at Irion and Concho Counties. Fellbaum adds a handwritten note complimenting the average number of reports by Carswell as 200% and to keep up the good work.

[Memo from Ed Riedel addressed to Post Officials, The American Legion]

A memo written to American Legion post officials, from Ed Riedel, Act. Dept. Adjutant, The American Legion, Austin, Texas, dated September 9, 1942. The memo reports, "Attention - Scrap Iron Needed." Riedel advises of Legion Posts "giving their cannons, guns etc. to put them back on the firing line against the enemy", offers advice for turning in materials that are needed and emphasizes the serious need of materials. "We must hunt out the hoarders of scrap metal, whether they be the individual house owner or tenant, the farmer, the dealer, the auto grave yard or the scrap yard and report those persons to the authorities who can and will commandeer the metal".
