In front of the inn is a grass lawn leading up to Lake Placid with trees along the shore. On the left of the lawn is a flagpole flying the American flag. Behind the inn is the top of a tree-line and a blue sky with a few white clouds. On the back of the card is a message from Isaac H. Kempner to his secretary Ursula McCarthy and Lucille Sedgwick asking for one of them to send a copy of the last letter sent to him from the St. Regis Hotel and discussing his stay at the Whiteface Inn.
