On one of her earlier campaign trips to the west, Mrs. Johnson was adopted by the Crow Indian tribe in Montana. The word was out the Oklahoma Indians weren't going to be outdone. The president's wife strongly urged the election of young lawyer and state Sen. Fred Harris, who is fighting famous former University of Oklahoma football coach Bud Wilkinson for a seat in the U. S., Senate."
