Grasshopper Damage To Corn Field on the J. O. Godwin Farm/Stillwater project/Blackwell Camp

Photograph of grasshopper damage to the J. O. Godwin farm cornfield. The back of the photograph proclaims, "Stillwater project, Blackwell Camp. J. C. Godwin Farm SE ΒΌ of 23-26N-1W. Grasshopper damage in the Chiskiska [sic] river valley. This area normally produces from 50 to 65 bushels of corn per acre in an average year. For a close up view showing grasshoppers still on a stalk of corn in this field, see Okla-5355. In 1936 the locusts took everything their paths. This was a promising corn field where the yield was 60 to 65 bushels of corn per acre in an average year."

Hutton Farm Excellent Condition Range Grass Following Hay Harvest

Photograph of excellent condition range grasses growing on loamy bottomland on the Hutton Farm after second growth of hay harvest. The grasses in the photograph include Big Bluestem, little bluestem, eastern gama, Indiangrass and Switch grass. The back of the photograph proclaims, "Loamy bottom land. This is second growth after hay harvest. Big Bluestem, little bluestem, eastern gama, Indian grass and Switch grass. Excellent Condition."
