If you can pronounce it, carillonneur Daniel Robins becomes an easy man to know. Robins flipped open his bow tie and said "It's carol-lu-nure. Frenc," and smiled as he eased into a waiting chair. He was visibly exhausted Sunday night after a 60-minute performance on one of the world's oldest and largest musical instrunments. Robins closed the Church Arts Festival at St. Luke's Methodist Church with dramatic exhibition on the church's towering carillon....The 30-year-old carillonneur from the University of Chicago is defensive about the instrunment that traces it founding to time-keeping bells of 16th century France......He completed the standard, four-year course of training at the Dutch Carillonneur School Foundation in Holland in one year and was the first American graduate."
