Caption: "A two-alarm fire in an old apartment house at 108 NE 7 was quickly extinguished, but not before four families were left homeless Monday noon. There were no injuries. Twelve engine companies and more than 35 firemen fought the blaze, which apparently started from a hot water tank in the rear of the dwelling. Assistant Fire Chief Earl Kemp estimated damages to be between $10,000 to $15,000. He said the fire gutted the rear room on the second floor, the attic and the roof. No one lived in the rear room. Firemen on ground and atop roof battle flames in apartment house ar 108 NE 7."
