Cocktail dress of blue, aqua and white rayon/nylon blend brocade with gold metallic lurex threads in stylized chrysanthemum flower and semi-circle or rainbow motif. Knee-length. Center front zipper is hidden by ivory satin placket with 5 self-covered buttons. Double collar of brocade under and ivory satin upper. Short sleeves. Two patch pockets with flaps and ivory satin covered button on front at sides. Princess seams. Inverted pleat in back starts at waistline; half belt band on back waistline is finished inside princess seams. Lined in blue rayon jacquard with "Mori Hanae" imprint. Hat

Hat of beige cotton(?). The crown is designed as a five-sided pyramid constructed of five triangular segments that have concentric chevrons of top-stitching. The cylindrical lower edge has horizontal top-stitching, and a lower band of beige and gold brocade ribbon. Hat is unlined, with inner beige cotton(?) hatband. Paper hat

Hat of plastic-coated paper. The hat is of novelty design, with a square crown of flame pink/orange with faint stripes/brick pattern, which is open along the vertical corners. The mostly-oval brim of the same material is set off-center, widest part from side to side, but with more brim at front than back. At front left, the brim extends and detaches from hat to hang down at side. At end of extension is cluster of petal forms made of the same material and a white version of same material. Hatband is formed of dense clusters of the same petals. The underside of the brim is of the flame pink/orange, while the inside of the crown is white. Headband of white grosgrain ribbon. Designer's label inside at base of crown: "Sue Dooley / Dallas" Measurements, not including extension: 32cm. front to back; 37 cm. side to side; 21 cm. from top of crown to base of main part of crown. When laid on flat surface, ca. 32 cm. from side of crown to furthest part of extension.

Draped dress

Coral pink. silk chiffon evening gown. Full-length evening gown constructed of gathered coral pink chiffon with contrasting gathered orange/pink panels center front and center back. Semi-fitted bodice with high rounded neckline. The neckline is accented with an orange/pink. silk chiffon. scarf panel detail. The scarf is sewn into the neckline from right center back to just short of the left shoulder line. The scarf is asymmetrically shaped and hangs to knee-level. It can be worn hanging loose or cowled at the neck. Full-length set-in gathered sleeves of sheer coral pink chiffon. The sleeves gather into wide cuffs fastened with two covered snaps. Center back zipper closure from neck to hipline within a single hook&eye at the neckline. Natural waist seam with embroidered belt detail. The belt consists of circular medallions of rhinestones and gold bugle beads arranged in a chain motif. Full. floor-length gathered skirt. Fitted lining of coral pink crepe. Huipil panel

Unused (neck opening never cut) huipil (woman's blouse). White cotton warp and weft handwoven on the back strap loom - technique called picb'il (supplementary weft brocade on a spaced or gauze weave textile - no supplemental weft). This style huipil is always wider than longer so the side panels will hang lower than the center panel. This huipil is never tucked into the skirt, thus giving the wearer freedom to move around and feel cool in the subtropical climate of 3500'.
