Bishop. The terms of the lease are discussed and includes a royalty for a percentage of all oil produced.

Sayles does not want to lose control of the stock or sell it for less than what it's worth. Sayles lists the profits that could be made from the Wichita Water & Light Company. The two are waiting on a president to be elected for the company.

Letter from Henry Sayles to Ed. S. Hughes discussing how to handle opposition to the railroad and how to present information about the railroad to Trumbull. Sayles discusses a conference that Abilene was invited to as they will likely have a railroad as part of the Cross Plains extension. Sayles believes there is a good chance of securing a twenty-five year lease for the railroad.

Letter from John Sayles to David W. Stephens discussing that there is no case on trial today. Mr. Sayles believes Sam Underwood case will be reached on Wednesday or Thursday.

Letter from Jack Sayles to Edward S. Arentz discussing the Betty estate. Sayles states the first requirement is not met, as there was a failure to obtain a title by John O'Loughlin. However, the second and third requirement are met. Sayles asks for the title division of Indian Territory Illuminating Company to notify him whether or not they want to waive the requirements.

Letter from Henry Sayles to I. H. Kempner discussing stock to possibly sell. Sayles' son Henry objects to the arrangement because of his obligation to sell land in Lee County. Sayles states he would not sell anyone else his interest in the Water & Light Company stock. Sayles mentions the demand for water is growing rapidly and discusses other plants in Abilene.

Sayles believes a committee member, John Bryan, will oppose any of his suggestions. Sayles elaborates on how he thinks they should handle those that oppose the railroad operation.

Letter from F. F. Claunts and R. F. Rood to Sayles & Sayles remitting certified title papers related to the Betty estate. They ask Sayles & Sayles to inform them of what requirements are still needed.

Letter from E. F. Lyle to R. F. Rood discussing an offer on the Wiggins' land in Hemphill County. Lyle states that royalties should to be paid to the Wiggins to reduce a mortgage note according to the original deed. Lyle still has yet to received the waiver of mortgage.

Letter to O. B. Fielder stating that the writer is unable to place Fielder's note at the bank in Hamlin as there are too many to keep track of. It is stated more money is owed to Fielder, but they are unable to send it until all of the deferred payments are made. The writer informs Fielder that all but one subdivision eliminated from the suit against the Railroad Company. Mary Sayles believes her duties are fulfilled regarding the case.

Letter from John Sayles to Perry Sayles delivering the deed for portions of land on Block 96. John explains that part of this land was traded to Paul L. Dillahunty. John also mentions a good amount of rain that was had at their home ranch.

On the back of the letter is a stationary header from Buie and Hanna's Land Agency, upon which several section and certification numbers for different pieces of land have been written in pencil along with a calculated price.
