Chapters are requested to send all required documentation, including a membership roster, officer list, bylaws, and taxation forms to the area director. Also, chapters should consider making donations to a number of funds, including a relief fund for victims of an earthquake in Oakland. Higgins suggests that because breast cancer rates are increasing in the general population chapters should plan a day for members to receive mammograms in lieu of a regular chapter meeting.

[Activist letter about 101st Congress]

Letter sent to activists of the National Gay & Lesbian Task Force (NGLTF) dates May 2, 1989 signed by Peri Jude Radecic with the main purpose of dicussing the 101st Congress. The first page describes the upcoming enclosures, noting that the most significant bills are the Hate Crime Statistics Act, the Immigration, Exclusion, and Deportation Amendment Act, and the Labor, HHS and Education Appropriation Bill. It also requests a $5 fee from activists to cover the costs of postage and copying (the first page is a repeat of UNTA_AR0887-001-04-003). The second page is Senate legislative summary of the 101st Congress (repeat of UNTA_AR0887-001-04-006) and the third page is a House of Representatives legislative summary. Both pages include a statement declaring that the NGLTF is lobbying for congressional action to counter homophobic policies enacted by the military. The fourth page is an information sheet for the fourth National Lobby Day for Lesbian Gay Rights, which is planned for June, 1989 (repeat of UNTA_AR0887-001-04-007). The fifth page is a registration form for individuals and organizations for the NGLTF National Lobby Day (repeat of UNTA_AR0887-001-04-008).
