Lined with beige silk crepe. B) Slip of beige silk crepe. Mid-length. Wide shoulder straps with square neckline. Center back zipper closure with hook & eye. (A) Day dress of heavy black silk crepe. Mid-calf length. Rounded neckline, the upper bodice formed as a wide circular panel that becomes shoulders. "Waistline" of skirt starts across at armpits, and hangs down with 4 gore full bias skirt. Center back opening with three 1" circular self-covered buttons and bound buttonholes. Sheath dress

Belted sheath dress A) Daytime sheath-style dress of natural silk with bateau neckline. Sleeveless. Fly opening at center back neckline with two large abalone buttons with bound buttonholes reinforced with snaps. Two large patch pockets placed low on hips which wrap around side seams from front to back. Knee length. Fitting darts at bust. Lined in natural colored silk. Combined retailer and designer label: "Neiman-Marcus Dallas / Traina-Norell" B) Matching 4 inch wide belt of self fabric. False closure on front right trimmed with two large abalone buttons. A) Day dress of printed cotton, brown on white, with black "spots" in a very tiny geometric pattern. Just below knee length. Double collar and cuffs with white cotton(?) button-in, detachable panels. Short sleeves, pleated into hems. V-neckline below collar, which has lower placket opening with three circular black buttons and bound buttonholes, and one hook-and-loop at waist, inner petersham with hooks and eyes, and series of 4 hidden snaps at center front of skirt. Natural waist, into which bodice and skirt are pleated. Full skirt. Lined in ivory organza/organdy. Pillbox Hat

Pillbox-style hat of black velvet and braid. The cylindrical crown is higher at front, and slightly domed at top. Around top and base of crown are running bands of black braid forming a series of loops, within each of which is a free-swinging black braid-covered ball. Lined in black mesh(?) and with an inner hatband of black grosgrain ribbon around the inside lower edge of crown. A small stitched mark on hatband indicates the front of the hat. Designer's label sewn to inner hatband: "Hattie Carnegie". The hat is accompanied by a short hatpin with black bead head.

Pillbox Hat

Pillbox hat of cream satin. The slightly domed crown of the hat is of cream satin, inset within a thick ring of the same fabric which forms the sides of the crown. Applied to the sides of the crown are black velvet ribbon semi-bows which form "T" shapes, set alternately upright and inverted. The hat is lined in golden tan fabric, and has a white grosgrain ribbon inner hatband around the inside base of the crown. Maker's label sewn to inner hatband: "Christian Dior New York Inc.". Retailer's label sewn to inside lining of crown: "Neiman-Marcus / Made to Order". Accompanied by a single short hatpin with faux pearl head.

Hatlet of navy blue faille(?). The open-crown hatlet is formed of a circle of overlapping bows/gathers of fabric, overlaid with a fine mesh veil of navy blue. The hat is lined in a darker blue fabric, which just shows along some edges. Designer's label: "Caprice / New York"
