Caption: "Tricky dogleg bends and detour signs like these have turned a section of I-35 north of Purcell into a hazardous driving area for motorists who do not stay alert. The normally safe stretch of super highway is being resurfaced foe almost 12 miles to bring it up to federal interstate standards. the detours are a necessary part of the project, officials say, and they are urging drivers to proceed with caution. the accident rate has risen sharply since the resurfacing started and failure to observe traffic signs is the reason, they say."

Photograph used for a story in the Oklahoma City Times newspaper. Caption: "Sen. Fred R. Harris told 1,800 John Marshall High School students today he sees hope in their generation and its concern over issues. Speaking at twin student assemblies, the Oklahoma Democrat said he consider extension of the vote to 18-year-olds "wholesome." "Whether or not it helps me in 1972," he added. Reluctant up to now to put himself in the 1972 race for re-election, Harris almost stepped over the line...Asked about "your lack of interest in Oklahoma ," Harris replied: "Some say if you're not interested in Oklahoma...Perhaps there was a day when politicians could ignore the fact there's a world out there."
