[Postcard of Monteigne in Natchez]

Postcard of a one story cream-colored building with white columns supporting the roof at the entrance, further described as "Monteigne, Natchez, Mississippi...Built in 1855 by Confederate General William T. Martin. Noted for its classic design and its surroundings of azaleas, camellias, and century-old live oaks. Home of Mrs. W. J. Kendall and famous Member of Pilgrimage Garden Club." The message on the back reads, "Wish you were with us. We loved Rosedawn. It is a beautiful restplace. We will see five houses in Natchez tomorrow. We are spending the night here. Love, Clyde." The postcard is addressed to "Mrs. Carroll E. Ward Room 311, St. Luke's 6720 Berther St. Houston, Texas."
