Bradbury reports his findings on the "Report and Recommendations of the Senate Committee Investigating Crime, 43rd Texas Legislature, 1933-1934" recommending strongly that Carswell obtain a copy and read certain sections citing that "any 'spot' information would not be considered valuable unless considered a part of the entire report". He advises that Carswell will find analysis by county annually including the number of indictments for liquor violations.

Davis expresses that Carswell was missed at the Field Day, inquires on the status of a San Angelo Field Day, and advises of an increase to 133 dry counties with more elections to be held, soon.

Coombes expresses his delight at a chance meeting with Mrs. Carswell in Ackers Shoe Store, his dismay in not being at home when Carswell went to Stamford to visit with them and reminisces about his time as Mayor of Abilene and their friendship during their "sojourn" in Abilene.

Carswell advises Maisel that he is submitting his recommendations for committee appointments noting that he is doing so only after having discussed the matter with each Division Commander in whose districts these men live: D. C. Harris, Mineral Wells - R. N. Richardson, Hardin-Simmons University, Abilene - W. R. Weaver, Spur - Charnell Jobe, Lamesa - A. E. Creigh, Jr., Sanderson - Leland L. Martin, Crane - F. E. (Fred) DeCoster, Amarillo - George E. Chisholm, Eden - F. D. Sheffield, Kerrville.

A letter addressed to Mr. T. N. Carswell, Fifth Division Commander, The American Legion, Abilene, Texas, from Jennings Monk, 21st District Commander, The American Legion, Kerrville, Texas, dated November 3, 1942. Monk confirms with Carswell his appointment of Mr. V. L. Blodgett of Kerrville, Texas as 21st District Membership Chairman.

A letter written to Mr. Charles Maisel, Department Commander, Phillips, Texas, from T. N. Carswell, Commander 5th Division, dated November 27, 1942. Carswell expresses his regrets at not seeing Maisel at Wellington and describes the convention events in which he participated. He advises that he has sent his committee nominations and that he will attempt a little membership campaign on his own during December assuring that the extra cost will be justified.

A letter written to Maj. Gen. Henry Terell, Jr., Commanding General, 90th Division, Camp Barkeley, Texas, from Fred Hughes, Post Commander, Parramore Post 57, and T. N. Carswell, Commander, 5th Division, dated November 27, 1942. Hughes and Carswell express their appreciation to the officers and men under Terell's command for their participation in the Armistice Day parade advising that it's success was due, in a large way, to the 90th Division.

A letter written to Mr. T. N. Carswell, Abilene, Texas, from Wyatt W. Lipscomb, Albany, Texas, dated November 22, 1942. Lipscomb advises of the enclosed clipping from one of their two local newspapers of an article written by himself relative to the proper consideration of Armistice. He complains that the other newspaper destroyed the intent of the article by leaving out the last paragraph. Lipscomb extends an invitation to Carswell and to his wife to attend an event to be held at their Legion Hall adding that he hopes his gasoline will not be too limited for the trip. Enclosure includes: "November 11, 1942" by Wyatt W. Lipscomb. Article printed by The Shackelford County Leader, Chas. A. Fryar, Publisher, Albany, Texas. Harris advises Maisel of his agreement to serve on the Legion Memorial Highway Committee for which he was recommended by Tommy N. Carswell.

A letter addressed to Mr. Tom N. Carswell, Fifth Division Commander, The American Legion, Abilene, Texas, from Jennings Monk, 21st District Commander, Kerrville, Texas, dated November 16, 1942. Monk expresses his regret that the original letter with names for the committees got lost. He confirms a meeting, scheduled for that night, to be held to boost the lagging membership in Kerrville.

A postcard addressed to Mr. Tom Carswell, c/o Draft Board, postmarked Floydada, Texas, dated November 26, 1942. The reverse side includes corrrespondence to Tommie from J. M. Willson dated November 26, 1942. Willson advises of his concern regarding the low membership and requests that Carswell check on and send a personal card to the Posts assuring Carswell that he will write to the Posts, also. He requests any other suggestions Carswell might think of and advises that he has not received a report as of late.

Carswell advises Teubel that he enjoyed the district meeting at Wellington, hopes they did some good and assures Teubel that he will do his best to keep things moving in the Legion.
