Invaders are numerous including muhly grass, fluff grass, three-awn, and perennial broomweed. Erosion, moderate to severe indicating that permanent damage is occurring. Recovery on this type of range will be slow, although much change toward the more desirable species can be expected when the use of range is based upon preserving the grama grasses."

Coastal Bermuda Pasture

Photograph of a herd of cattle grazing in a pasture of coastal Bermuda near Ardmore. The back of the photograph proclaims, "This is one of the many beautiful pasture and hay producing fields that can be seem driving on Oklahoma's Highways. However, Three (3) year ago this area was heavily infested with hardwoods and underbrush. Area was cleared and sprigged to coastal Bermuda, thus becoming a highly productive piece of land. Mr. Fritgreald has been a cooperator of the Arbuckle SWCD for the past 15 Years. During this period, he has planted approx. 2,000 ac. of improved pasture."

Watershed Erosion
