A letter written to Mr. T. N. Carswell, Abilene, Texas, from Mrs. C. B. Marchbanks, De Leon, Texas, dated September 16, 1941. Marchbanks advises that her daughter Marilyn won the Literary Scholarship given by Dr. White to attend Hardin-Simmons University and, therefore, is requesting that Carswell recommend her for employment to the Commanding Officer at Camp Barkeley noting that his being on the draft board should help.
