Composition Pulp Plaster and Process of Manufacturing Same.

Patent for "a composition pulp plaster designed as a substitute for ordinary lime-plaster and equivalent materials and particularly adapted for use in warm moist climates, where the ordinary lime-plaster lacks durability and is rendered non-adherent. A further objective of the invention is to provide a cheap substitute for plaster which will be not only waterproof, but also fireproof and gas-proof or practically impervious to air" (lines 9-18). Patent for an improved wrench that has two movable jaws and can separate about the length of the handle. The wrench's "head or nut for operating the upper jaw is swiveled and forms a part of the handle" (lines 14-15). The wrench can be converted into a pipe-wrench.

Patent for a wire-coiling machine that improves on a previous patent (No. 296,806), that was granted to Wildermuth. The improvement allows for either left- or right-handed use, by making the crank movable to either side and by "providing the upper end of the post at opposite sides with stationary cutter blades and a single movable cutter adapted to be shifted for operation with either one of the said fixed cutters" (lines 28-32).

Patent for a wire-stretcher meant for making barbed wire fences that is more efficient than other wire-stretchers. It has a bent plate, a split hook swiveled to the plate, a rotatable rod that goes through the plate, stretching wire that is secured to the rod, and the split hook is attached to the wire.

Hydraulic Propulsion of Vessels.

Patent for a new and improved hydraulic propulsion. This design "is to provide an improved means for the application of the jet principle in the hydraulic propulsion of vessels; and it consists in the combination, with the hull of the vessel, of one or more main or trunk tubes arranged longitudinally to the vessel and of tapering shape, largest at its front end, which is open, and provided along its length with a series of nozzles opening along the side of the vessel in rearward direction, and one or more propeller-wheels arranged within the main tube and adapted to suck water in at the front" (lines 8-20).
