Audio interview with B. D. Fillmore, a veteran of World War II from Dallas, Texas, regarding his experiences as a prisoner-of-war of the Japanese after being captured on the island of Java in 1942. Fillmore discusses his transfer to several different camps as a part of the "Lost Battalion."

Interview with Phyllis Busch, a resident of Baytown, Texas since approximately 1920. Topics include her early life and family background, including a description of tent city, Horace Mann school, 1923, the picture show in Pelly, and her religious and community life in Cedar Bayou.

Interview with Captain George Duncan, a Navy veteran, concerning his experiences in the Pacific Theater during World War II. Duncan discusses his pilot training at Pensacola Naval Air Station in 1941, his assignment to Air Group 9 on the carrier Essex, the Hellcat fighter, the sinking of Fubuki-class destroyer in June of 1944 off of Pagan Island, the Marianas Campaign in 1944, the "Great Marianas Turkey Shoot," the Philippines Campaign and the attack on the Japanese battleship Musashi, and his postwar naval career.

Interview with Acting Sergeant David W. Peake, Sr., regarding his memories of the invasion of Iwo Jima and experiences as a member of the 3st Replacement Battalion, 27th Regiment, 5th Marine Division during the invasion and occupation of Japan.

Interview with Nathan Gann, a member of the Civilian Conservation Corps from Rogers, Texas. Gann discusses his family background, school and farm life during the Depression, joining the CCC and assignment to Bartlett, Texas, accommodations in camp, construction and surveying work, the layout of camp, having appendicitis, money, recreation and time off, the daily routine, food, educational services, initiation rituals and pranks, Army Air Force service in WWII, and joining the Soil Conservation Service.

Interview with Sharon "Tommie" Acierno, Vietnam War veteran, as part of the Tarrant County War Veterans Oral History Project. The interview includes Acierno's personal experiences about childhood, dropping out of high school and enlisting in the U.S. Army, basic and clerical training, working as drill sergeant at Ft. McClellan, struggling with alcoholism and post-traumatic stress disorder, and working with the Vietnam Veterans of America group. Acierno also discusses her coming out experience, volunteering for assignment to Vietnam, her clerical duties with a logistics unit at Long Binh, the camaraderie among gay and straight troops, her experiences with apathetic citizens and antiwar protesters upon return to the U.S., deciding to leave the Army and relocate to Dallas, her experience in the Veterans Administration psychiatric ward, and her opinions regarding the "Don't ask, don't tell" policy and the treatment of women in the military generally. The interview includes an appendix with photographs.
