Newspaper clipping describing Hugh L. Patton’s extinguishing fire in Oklahoma City. The article touches upon the express concerns of Lieutenant Colonel Cicero Murray and the State conservation committee on using nitroglycerin to extinguish these fires. The well fire was extinguished by an explosion of nitroglycerin resulting in a wild and uncontrollable fire destroying 6,000 barrels of oil. The newspaper clipping is attached to a letter from R. C.
