IVESTIGATION OF POLYSULFIDE CONFORMAL COATING

An investigation of the properties of foamed polysulfide (Thiokol) compounds revealed several properties which had previously escaped notice. These properties included lack of thermal stability, attack by hot epoxy resins, and differences among compounds prepared by different vendors. Details of these findings and their significance are discussed.
