Documenting Times of Difficulty and Crisis: Case Study of Leveraging an App to Gather University Community Memories

Resource and Resource Sharing in Intelligent Information Access
This presentation discusses an exploratory study on resources and resource sharing among researchers in Intelligent Information Access (IIA). The investigation consists of two stages. In Stage One, the authors conducted a content analysis to identify resources used in 145 research papers and reports in two subfields of IIA; and in Stage Two, the authors carried out an online survey of IIA researchers to understand resource-sharing channels and the researchers' perspectives on resource sharing.

Trans Accessible Libraries Initiative

Preparing Linguists’ Field Recordings and Datasets for Ingest into a Digital Library System: Lessons from Creating the Lamkang Language Resource at the University of North Texas Digital Library
Presentation on the long term preservation of and universal access to language data which may tap into typologically rare phenomena and which represents the intangible and irreplaceable heritage of indigenous communities. This language data can be in the form of audio, video, picture, and various digital formats. In order to prepare the source files of a documentation project for ingest to a digital library, linguists and digital librarians must develop a common procedure that takes into consideration (1) provenance and varying formats of materials and (2) necessary metadata specific to linguistic datasets.

These Tunes Ain't Straight In Line: Grateful Dead Shows and Problems with Music Cataloging Outside of the Western Art Paradigm
Presentation provides an overview of the structure upon which modern library resource description is based, and we will highlight the difficulties of imposing this description standard on music for which it was not optimized, using examples from the Grateful Dead repertoire.
