Grass, Legume and Forb Cultivation

Photograph of Blue panic grass planted on May 13, 1952. 30 head of cattle grazed on 10 acres from April to November. The Blue panic grass grew over 4 feet in height in 1955 before it received rain this year. The Soil Conservation Service [SCS] staked a pond and ordered fish from a US fish hatchery. Mr. Woodrow, shown, is a supervisor of the Kiowa County Soil Conservation District [SCD]. SCS staked terraces and grass is planted in 40-inch rows on the contour. OK-83-1.
