The Texas State Historical Association Quarterly Report includes "Papers read at the meetings of the Association, and such other contributions as may be accepted by the Committee" (volume 1, number 1). These include historical sketches, biographical material, personal accounts, and other research. Index is located at the end of the volume starting on page 533.

A letter addressed to Rev. Jeff Davis, United Texas Drys, from T. N. Carswell, Chairman United Texas Drys, dated October 7, 1942. Carswell recounts events of a meeting in Lubbock, advises of pledge cards received for a Field Day to be held in Lubbock and emphasizes that the churches are anxious to have Davis and Bishop Boaz attend their Field Day. Typewritten at the top of the letter is a list of Lubbock area churches and organizations.

Special orders extract listing several men from Sweetwater who were inducted as flight instructors and Air Corps mechanics that are to remain on inactive status. Rigdon Edwards Jr., known Women Airforce Service Pilots instructor, can be seen listed among the names.

Letter from Rabbi Newton J. Friedman to I. H. Kempner explaining that he will make the increased offer to the land owner of the potential lot for the Hillel building in Austin, rejoicing over the pledges for $1,000.00 and discussing the responses from B'nai B'rith Lodges. He also mentions Mr. Scheppps decision to donate the Liquor Dealers Fund to local hospitals in the area. He agrees to make personal donations to the fund instead.
