Seed is mixed with 5-10-5 fertilizer and planted at the rate of 2 lbs. of seed and 200 lbs of fertilizer per acre. The seed is dropped in small furrows that are made by spring-tooth harrow teeth. Press-wheels train in the furrows. Cost of this conversion is about $65 worth of material plus labor.
