Nami advises that he looks forward to seeing Carswell at the Fifth Division Convention in Odessa adding that he is counting on Carswell's support for his candidacy.

A letter written to Mr. T. N. Carswell, Abilene, Texas, from Andrew Dilworth, San Antonio 5, Texas, dated June 20, 1946. Dilworth requests that Carswell support Jimmie Caviness for National Executive Committeeman and advises that the name of James M. Caviness was "presented" to and received an ovation from the convention. He briefly summarizes the life and qualifications of Caviness beginning with the following; "Jimmie Caviness is a veteran of both World War I and World War II. In the last war he served as a Colonel in the 36th Division, and he was a casualty of that war. He lost his only son in World War II."

A letter written to Mr. T. N. Carswell, Parramore Post No. 57, American Legion, Abilene, Texas, from Roy A. McMillan, Major, Specialist, Asst. to Chief, Public Relations Branch, Headquarters Eighth Service Command, Fort Sam Houston, Texas, dated September 11, 1942. McMillan advises Carswell that he has attached a clipping along the lines they had discussed and, in a handwritten postscript, conveys his appreciation to Carswell for his efforts in having the phone company run him down on his return to San Antonio. Typewritten on Headquarters Eighth Service Command letterhead. The attached clipping contains an article titled "Specialists Commissions Open in Army."

A letter written to Brigadier General Richard Donovan, Commander 8th Corp Area, Fort Sam Houston, Texas, from T. N. Carswell, Major, 10th Battalion, Texas Defense Guard, dated February 7, 1941. Carswell requests to receive copies of : "Infantry Drill Regulations F.M. 22-5". Carswell informs Donovan that Congressman Russell had advised Carswell that the War Department had refered Russell and Carswell to him.

A Western Union telegram sent to T. N. Carswell, San Antonio, Texas, from Tom Connally, Washington, D. C. via Abilene Texas, dated March 3, 1943. Connally replies to a telegram from Carswell and advises that a strike bill is pending and that he is doing all he can. The reverse side includes stamp - 1943 MAR 4 AM 9 54--A R SAN ANTONIO, TEX.

A letter written to Mr. T. N. Carswell, Abilene, Texas from Sargi Jones, San Antonio, Texas, Calle Albino Mereles, Chihuahua, Chi, dated May 28, 1944. Mereles acknowledges the receipt of "the lovely book" noting "The Charge of The Light Brigade" as a personal favorite.

A letter written to Mr. Carswell from Lucie K. Whitehead, San Antonio, Texas, dated March 14, 1955. Whitehead expresses her pleasure for the opportunity to have seen Carswell and for having settled the income tax matter for a while. She explains who Sydney Reagan is, a boy from Washington who is in San Antonio, and gives his educational and family background noting that he has held an administrative job in Washington for several years. She requests from Carswell any help that he can give regarding introducing Reagan to the Wagstaff Firm in Abilene.

A letter written to Mr. Carswell from Lucie Whitehead, San Antonio, Texas, dated May 10, 1957. Whitehead requests help from Carswell, via his contacts, in obtaining passage home for her daughter, Mary Ann.

A letter written to Mrs. Whitehead from T. N. Carswell, dated March 2, 1958. Carswell acknowledges the receipt of her letter regarding her question on the amount of the tax shown on the return advising the question proved to be well founded. He apologizes for his mistake and encourages her appraisal of his work as needed, expresses his appreciation for the spirit of her letter and advises that it "but deepens an opinion I've long had of you". In a postscript to Whitehead, Carswell advises that he is working on her 1957 return and that he will forward a rough draft.

A letter written to Mr. Carswell from Lucie Whitehead, dated August 12, 1964. Whitehead acknowledges her receipt of the letter from Carswell and advises that whenever he is able to be there that she will be ready to attack the income tax reports. She advises of Lucie Jean, Frank and the boys having sailed for England and that Laurence has health issues.
